Trombone Studies

We study classical, improvisational, and jazz trombone.

We begin with the Rubank Method for Trombone and then work through the Arban’s Method for Trombone. We also study the Emory Remmington and the Max Schlossberg studies. Finally, we study the Rochut Etudes and the Blazhevich Clef Studies.

Students learn all scales, modes, and arpeggios, major orchestral excerpts, and solo repertoire.

We primarily use Aebersold books for learning jazz improvisation and approaches to free improvisation.
